Who We Are
Energy Replay Ltd is a local company formed by Paul Young,
who has an honours degree in Earth Sciences and Steve Dean who has a
background in mechanical engineering.
Steve has been in Gibraltar for 23 years, he worked with the Sheppard-Cappuros
for many years, latterly in charge of the boatyard engineering workshop.
Then Steve moved on to ElectroMed, which was formed in Gibraltar some 20
years ago and gained an excellent reputation for the sales and service of
marine electronics throughout the Western Mediterranean specialising in
engineering and communications systems for shipping and super yachts. Paul
helped form a cellular radio company which offered consultancy and had many
cellular operations in Africa. The company was sold to Kuwait Telecom in
2005. He now has more time to spend in Gibraltar, and is concentrating on
developing new technologies both here and abroad. Paul has interests in two
other companies developing fuel cells for the mobile phone market.

Alternative Fuel Systems was
formed in late 1998, when interest in alternative fuels, especially LPG as a
road fuel, was becoming more widespread in the UK. They are now also
developing Hydrogen Fuel Cells, another core area of interest within the
alternative fuel industry, which AFS has been actively involved with since
its formation. In June 1999 they were added to the UK Energy Saving Trust
Power-shift Register.
Past Achievements
In 2001 AFS was awarded a prestigious DTI Smart award for the design and
construction of a 5KW Alkaline Fuel Cell system. Other fully operational
units have been demonstrated at numerous events and exhibitions, such as:
-
Black Country Power, Birmingham
-
Hanover Fuel Cell Fair, Germany
-
Grove Symposium, London
-
The Senate, Washington DC
-
US Navy HQ, Annapolis

The development team that worked on these technologies
including Ron Hodkinson, Rob Priest and Steve Dean represent the finest
minds with the greatest hands of knowledge on running clean energy
systems. Ron and Rob would be happy to provide a detailed presentation. Go
to the fuel cell control site for
more information on fuel cells.

This same group in the UK have been working on LPG
conversions for cars. Having a LPG conversion vehicle is very easy to run,
simple to refill, saves money and saves the environment.
